HOLLIE ARMSTRONG
Hello, I'm Hollie and it is my firm belief that Pilates is for everyone - although I recognise that it can feel daunting at times. Rest assured, you'll be in safe hands in my class. We'll explore and apply the Pilates principles in an inclusive and playful environment, allowing for exploration of individual abilities and interests. Acknowledging that my class may be the only hour in your week you dedicate to self care, it'll always be my goal for you to leave feeling lighter, stronger and more connected to yourself.
A bit about me - I've been a dedicated yoga and Pilates student for 12 years having spent a large chunk of that time sweating it out in the hot room. Although it was in the summer of 2020, following the birth of my daughter, when my Pilates practice really took hold. Pilates gently helped me to restore my strength (in body and mind). It was then, more than ever, that I really tapped into the power of the mind-body connection. It helped me ease into motherhood, explore and discover my new self and four years down the line, still acts as the ultimate self care tool. We live in such a connected and fast paced world and it's so easy to get caught up in the rat race of day to day life. This is true for me working in a high pressure job and spinning the many plates of modern life. Pilates has helped to ground me when I'm feeling overwhelmed, centre me when I have a busy mind and teach me how strong and resilient my body can be. I really wanted to establish a slower pace of life and share the magic of this method. I decided to bite the bullet and enrol in my teacher training.
I'm really excited to be taking Gillian's Wednesday night classes at Yama Studio and can't wait to meet you on the mat.
