Cuddle Workshop

  • Yama Studios Glasgow 7 Milnbank Street Glasgow, Scotland, G31 3AY United Kingdom (map)

Our Cuddle and Consensual Touch Workshops, held by Amira Kremers and Susan Dalziel, are non-sexual events where we can practice our Yes’s and No’s powerfully, and express our desires for touch and closeness. They are clothes-on, and safely held at Yama Studios, becoming a mixture between a workshop and a social gathering. They focus mainly on navigating and exploring boundary setting and consent using tools, such as the Wheel of Consent, by honouring and diving deep into our bodies nervous system and giving them a voice. During the session, you'll discover how saying "NO" is just as crucial, if not more so, as saying "YES."

Our mission is to empower people to set boundaries, which allows for more tactile pleasures with each other. We can only ever give ourselves permission to say yes after we have learned to say no. When closeness feels risky, it’s usually due to an inability to say no.

Our event begins with a Sharing Circle, where everyone is introduced to eachother and to the ‘rules of cuddling’. For example, that it is not neccesary to do anything you do not want to, and you must ask permission and receive a verbal “YES” before you touch anyone. This is followed by some exercises to teach communication and boundary skills in a fun and light hearted way, and then a free form part, where you can relax, chat, share consensual touch, cuddle, snack, or just hang out.

It is a relaxed way to receive lots of consensual touch, to learn how to ask for what you want, and to practice saying YES and NO, and having this respected. Amira has dedicated their practice for the last decade to teaching Forrest Yoga, being a somatic bodyworker & practitioner, and more recently a Consensual Touch Coach and Student Sexological Bodyworker/ Somatic Sexologist in-training. Being the resident therapist at Yama Studios Glasgow has allowed for the work to flourish.
”I am truly grateful for this open-minded community we have grown here at Yama, willing to explore all the corners on the journey towards embodiment and personal growth. It is humbling to be here and to be able to provide this type of work to you all. Yama is truly a gift that keeps on giving.”

Susan has been a movement practitioner for as long as she can remember and is the founder of Yama Studios Glasgow. Having plenty of experience running workshops and holding space, Susan is also trained in leading sound and chanting circles, meditation and visualisation, emotional/thought field therapy, colour and art therapy. One of her biggest body of learning to date has been with the School of Movement Medicine where she qualified as a professional and is working as an apprentice teacher.
The idea (behind Yama) was to provide a safe space for people to practice yoga, movement and arts. To offers practices to help people feel the connection between their body heart and mind and the body heart and mind of the earth. Reconnection of our whole system allows us to build more capacity and better regulate our nervous system. It helps us to accept the intelligence in the body, heart, mind and the body of the earth as truly one system.”
